Potential…it is hard not to fall in love with it.  There is a very important part of the definition that people often miss…

Potential (n): latent qualities or abilities that may be developed and lead to future success or usefulness.

So often people in sales and network marketing get excited about people they know or people that they meet that would be PERFECT!!  This person would do so great in my business!!

People may show potential and have qualities or abilities that can lead to success.  But the problem is that these attributes need to BE DEVELOPED to create the future success.  Many times people don’t want to take the time or energy necessary to develop these skills.

What I have learned is that we can’t want it more than other people want it for themselves.

Instead put your energy into the people in your business that want it, that are ready to get to work.  Look for people that have a willingness to work, are teachable, and have that burning desire.  That desire to get out of the box, out of the rat race.

Don’t forget about the people that simply show potential, keep dripping on them, but focus on the people that are as hungry for success and change as you are.
